New Batman Epic hits voice-over stumbling block!

One of the most highly-anticipated films of 2012 has to be the new Batman epic, The Dark Knight Rises which is due to hit our screens in July of this year. The film however, has recently hit a stumbling block which has caused the producers to re-edit one of the vocal tracks to the film.

In order to help increase excitement for the film (as if they really needed to?), the studios released a six minute prologue to the film to tease the fans who are counting down the days until it’s release. The film’s prologue is narrated by the film’s main villain Bain portrayed by the talented British actor Tom Hardy (Inception, Bronson). The narration however has already thrown up issues, with viewers complaining that they can’t understand what Hardy is saying.

Hardy’s character wears a mask, and adding this to his British accent, it appears to have thrown up an issue for American audiences. Warner Brothers have allegedly requested that the Bane voice be completely re-done, however the move has met resistance from director Christopher Nolan. The film has recently finished shooting, so re-filming isn’t an option. Nolan has decided that he only wants to tweak the voice track as opposed to re-recording it entirely, as he didn’t want to dumb down the film for the audience. So the voice that you’ll be hearing when the prologue hits screens, won’t be the voice that you were originally intended to hear.

Regardless of any vocal issues, The Dark Knight Rises is set to be one of the biggest films of the year, bringing to an end the Dark Knight trilogy of films, and all of us at UK Voices couldn’t be more excited to go and watch it!
