The main difference between the two is that the pro version comes with a stand to hold the booth, whereas the standard model will have to be clipped to a microphone stand. So if you’re just starting out and don’t have a lot of equipment, it may be worth your while to pay the extra for the Pro version. Regardless of which model you go for however, you’ll be getting a high quality product. The booth has been specially moulded to enable the best dry sound possible, giving you that studio sound in your home.
One of the advantages of the booth is that it’s relatively small and can fit easily into any room. It simply curves around your microphone, so is slotted into the corner without getting in the way. In addition to this the colour scheme is nice –black and grey- so won’t stand out. These design features ensure you maintain a smooth and professional look to your home studio. We’ve tested recording with and without the booth, and the difference is definitely noticeable. Without, the sound had an echo and was quite low quality, however, with the booth in place, using the same microphone, the voice-over recording quality was so much better, and genuinely surpassed our expectation for an enhancement that cost so little.
The most impressive thing about the portable phone booth though is the price. If you compare it to what it would cost to sound-proof your room, it really puts into perspective. This is a really handy product for any voice-over artist.
