Much like the Vocalzone Pastilles we reviewed in last month’s edition. This month we’re going to be taking a look at Farley’s Throat Spray, another tool used in the voice industry to keep the voice strong and limber.
When you see a product recommended by singers like Joss Stone –known for her amazing voice- and old veterans like Sting, you know this product has a big appeal. The spray protects your voice and throat from laryngitis, hoarseness, congestion, stuffiness and a dry throat, all issues that voice over artists would prefer to avoid. Whilst the pastilles last month are more geared towards keeping your voice strong, the spray is geared towards keeping the throat healthy, because if you’re aiming to become a top voice over artist, you need to keep your throat in good condition too.
The spray claims to be different from other sprays, in the sense that it actually tastes decent. After trying it, whilst I wouldn’t say it’ll be replacing anything as my drink of choice, the taste isn’t too bad. The thing that impressed me most with the spray, is that it is remarkably fast acting. When I first used to spray to try to get ride of the sore throat I’d been struggling with for days, I used it more as a last resort, but within a few minutes I’d begun to feel the affects, and found my throat feeling better and my voice returning to its best. Within a day, my throat was back to normal.
The best and cheapest place you can purchase this product is from Amazon, for £8.49. It may seem a bit steep for what looks like a small bottle, however you get more than your money’s worth, as one spray every few hours can easily do the trick, so if you use it only when you really need it (i.e. in the lead up to an audition or job) one bottle will last you for a fairly long time.
