Each month we strive to find a product in the voiceover realm that we feel would be beneficial to you. This month we are reviewing Thayers Slippery Elm Lozenges, the premier throat lozenges on the scene.
The main marketing point of the lozenges is that they are completely natural, and upon reading up on them before trying them out, I see no reason to argue that fact. The lozenges are made from the bark of the Slippery Elm trees in the Eastern United States and Canada, which is ground down and combined with a crystallizing substance in order to form the lozenges. You can purchase the lozenges in four different flavours: Original, Cherry, Tangerine/Rosehips and finally Maple two trees, more than enough variety.
I decided that I would give the Cherry a try as I thought it would be the easiest to taste, and upon first impressions, the taste was good. Nothing too sour and it went down easily. I was suffering from a sore throat at the time of taking and needed my voice for the next day. I was very impressed that the lozenges seemed to reduce the irritation of the sore throat very quickly, and by the next day my throat was nearly fighting fit again. The plus point of these lozenges is that they aren’t to be confused with strepsils. These lozenges are designed for voiceover artists, and others who need to make use of their voice daily, and the quick results agree with that.
The lozenges aren’t badly priced; the best price I could find was £9.95 for a bottle of 150 at vocalcare.com, which should certainly give you enough to get on with. £9.95 is about the going rate and you won’t find them any cheaper, but with this product, it’s definitely money well spent as they will help your voice recover quickly and effectively, which is something over the counter throat lozenges don’t seem to do.
